THE GOD OF FIRE WILL VISIT YOU

THE GOD OF FIRE WILL VISIT YOU

The Word of God in 1 Kings 18:24 says: “And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.”

When the glory of God manifested in the lives of the children of Israel, one of the primary ways it was showcased was through fire. The Bible tells us that a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire followed them by day and by night. Whenever God chose to appear, He often appeared as fire.

We see this when Moses lifted his eyes and saw a burning bush, it was fire. Suddenly, a voice began to speak out of that flame. Later, when the glory of God descended upon the Tabernacle, fire appeared once again. The God we serve is a God of fire, and the truth is, His presence is a consuming fire.

In Scripture, fire refers to light, heat, and passion. When we speak of the fire of God, we are not just talking about something that consumes; that is only one department of it. When God answers a person, He answers by fire.

The nature of that answer depends on the specific department of His fire that you are engaging with. When God responds to a request, He releases Himself, and that release manifests as fire. The God of fire is the God of light, but He is also the God who burns. This is why the Bible says, “For our God is a consuming fire.”

THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE GOD OF FIRE

LIGHT

God is Light. He is the Light of the world and the Light in the believer. Light speaks of illumination, revelation, and understanding.

When you ask God for something, He releases a specific department of His fire to meet that request. For example, if you are asking God for wealth, He doesn’t necessarily bring the heat, He brings the Light that emanates from His fire.

The word of God in Psalm 105:39 says, “He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.”
This is exactly what happened to Moses. When Moses encountered the fire in the bush, the department of the fire that appeared to him was Light. Through that light, God began to open his eyes, giving him revelation, understanding, and divine knowledge.

It was because of this encounter with the department of Light that Moses was able to write nearly half of the Old Testament. That light produced emanation and insight. In this context, light represents revelation and prophecy, the insight required to see what is to come.

The book of 1 John 1:5 says, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

Also, Exodus 13:21 says, “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night.”

HEAT

Heat is another department of fire. The purpose of heat from fire is to burn, refine, preserve, purify, and produce. The heat is what consumes and it is what brings about burning.

When the Holy Ghost comes upon you and God releases His fire, one of the things He does is begin to burn. He burns away everything in your life that is not of God. He burns every seed the devil has planted and consumes every obstacle in your path.

This is clearly seen in the life of Peter. When Peter stood up to minister the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost, he spoke with a level of revelation he had never possessed before. He began to quote Scriptures with ease, the same Peter who previously struggled to understand them.

This is because the fire came, and as those tongues of fire rested upon them, the God of fire entered his spirit as Light. But there was a second thing that happened: the fire burned away his fear. Previously, Peter was timid, he was the man who had fled and denied Jesus because of a question from a little girl.

Yet, look at him now, standing boldly before a crowd of three thousand to minister the Gospel. The fire came and performed its work. It burned out the fear, the doubt, and the unbelief.

The scripture in 1 Kings 18:38 says, “Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

Also, Malachi 3:2-3 says, “But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver.”

PASSION

Fire speaks about passion and zeal. When you say, “That guy is on fire,” you are talking about the passion of that person. So when we talk about letting the fire come, we are talking about an igniting of passion.

Passion refers to strong desire, enthusiasm, and willpower dedicated to a person, activity, or concept. The reason some people are not going to church or are not interested in the things of God is that the fire has not come yet.

The Bible says, “The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” That is what David said. That zeal was a burning fire in his bones. When the fire falls, you’ll want to sleep in the church day and night because a passion is ignited. There is even a department of this passion powered by holy anger.

The book of James 5:17 says, “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.”

Also, John the Baptist said, in the book of Matthew 3:11 that, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”

The Holy Ghost is a Person, but the fire that comes along with Him is what we call passion, light, and heat.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I declare that the Lord shall release His fire over your life this month of February. I pray His Light give you direction, His Heat purify your path, and His Passion consume your heart for His kingdom, in the name of Jesus. AMEN.
